The White Cube Diaries is a conglomeration of art reviews, criticism, essays, and general commentary on the art world written and relayed to you by yours truly.

…and who am I?

I am a somewhat recent graduate of Maine College of Art with a BFA in painting (check out my portfolio here!) and art history. Who, in the face of the daunting and unforeseeable future, became inspired to write this blog where I have the freedom to be a self-proclaimed critic, curator, and gallery girl; living vicariously through The White Cube Diaries.

author’s note: All of the imagery used on this blog appropriated under the fair use act is intended for positive promotion, constructive criticism, and mindful musings of art and artists. If you find your imagery on this blog and would like it removed, please contact me and I will remove it immediately. In addition if you see an image that is not properly credited (I try to label all artworks with at least the artist’s name) let me know and I will amend the problem. Thank you kindly, and happy reading.

  1. Hi Lydia! I’ve given you the One Lovely Blog Award because your blog is a delight to my eyes and an inspiration to my spirit. I love your perspectives on art and life and your beautiful, detailed posts are a joy to read. I hope you will consider this a big thank you and pay it forward to someone who delights you. If you aren’t into this sort of thing, then just know that someone out here admires your work.

    • Thank you so much kat! It means so much to me to hear that you enjoy reading my blog! I try to do my best to keep up with it (sometimes I feel like it’s not enough!) and share new ideas, artists, events, news etc. I have to say it sometimes feels strange writing posts and sending them out into the abyss of the internet and not knowing who is actually reading them, I’m sure you know what I mean, so I can’t thank you enough for reassuring me that what I am writing is not only for my own amusement, but that you and hopefully others are reading it and enjoy it too! Thank you again for the One Lovely Blog Award, it is very unexpected, but greatly appreciated! You can expect a handful of new posts this week as I have been brewing up some ideas and have stumbled across new inspirations!

      Thanks again,

      • I know what you mean about sending posts into the abyss! It is so difficult to be motivated when it can be so quiet. You write very well; quality is more important than quantity. Those games people play on the internet may get a ton of traffic, but I don’t think that anyone is learning a whole lot or encountering anything life changing. Can’t wait to read your future posts!
